The definition of 'responsibility' is to be accountable or responsible, as in having the power to control or manage something.
To better understand 'why' responsibility exists in the first place, consider this: Responsibility is the motivation behind doing what is required. Example: When I have the responsibility of caring for my family, I must maintain employment to generate monies to provide food, shelter and clothing. And as an added benefit, when my responsibilities are in alignment with God’s will, they are not obligatory, rather they are joyful and I am blessed in doing so. When we loose sight of serving God in our responsibilities, this is when they become obligatory, and often times, stressful.

ALL things we are responsible for are by choice! So, we must choose wisely, because what we are responsible for effects the lives of those around us.
Here' an insight...
There is NO way for me to be responsible for anything I have not chosen. I must say “yes” to what I am responsible for (of course, at times I may have accepted a responsibility without saying the word “YES” … but I did not say “NO”, therefore I accepted the responsibility by not making a decision).
You see, we are the ‘gatekeeper’ of
those things we are responsible for, and if we do not guard our gate, all sorts of
things can creep in and clutter our lives. So again, we must choose wisely; we must
guard our gate and only allow in what we prayerfully consider and decide!
“Wisdom, is knowing the right thing to do;
Integrity is doing the right
thing”.
